Philo TV Packages & Channels Review 2022
For $25, this streaming service will deliver endless entertainment at your fingertips with over 60+ channels in their roster. Philo TV has become one of the most loved online streaming platforms in the U.S and for good reason.
Their service is affordable, has a wide variety of content which includes cult classics and old-time favorites as well as it’s available on a range of devices making it easier than ever to watch your favorite movies or TV shows on the go.
But Philo doesn’t have it all, in fact there are quite a number of things the platform lacks such as news, local channels and sports.
Read my review on Philo TV packages and channels to help you learn more about what they have to offer and if their services are worthwhile subscribing to.
Philo TV Packages & Channels Review
What is Philo TV?
Philo TV is a live TV platform that was founded back in 2012. I came across this platform in my search for online subscription services and I must say, it’s quite affordable considering the amount it has to offer.
Not only does Philo offer live TV channels, it also has 10 free channels, movie bundles and extra features such as HD playback. Live TV has a 72-hour rewind function and there is unlimited DVR which lets me store recorded content all year long.
How Much Does Philo TV Cost?
As of November 2022, Philo costs a flat $25 per month and this subscription plan grants access to over 60 live channels as well as a vast selection of premium movies and shows.
I liked Philo mainly for the fact that they do not have any other subscription plan and there’s no contract to be signed, which means that subscriptions can be canceled or resumed anytime.
There is also a 7-day trial period right before the subscription commences which I found to be quite decent.
Also, this trial grants access to everything Philo TV has to offer, so ultimately if I didn’t like what they had in store or if I found any alternative then I was allowed to cancel the subscription without any charge.
How to Sign Up for the Philo TV Free Trial?
Signing up for the Philo TV free trial is quite easy and it can be done on all devices and not just the website.
The process is the same across different devices and it would require creating an account and selecting the subscription plan in order to get access to their 7-day free trial.

This discount can be used by new as well as existing customers and the deadline for this promotion is 11:59 PM on the 31st of December 2022.

What Can I Watch on Philo TV?
Apart from the low subscription charges, another reason why I fell in love with Philo TV is because the subscription plan provides access to over 60+ live channels.
There are even 10 free to watch channels that I could access without purchasing any subscription plan.
While their subscription plan doesn’t include news channels, sports channels or local channels, for the price, it’s definitely worth it considering there are some great networks such as AMC, Comedy Central, Discovery Network, Hallmark, MTV, IFC and many many more.
Here’s everything Philo TV has to offer:
Included in the $25 plan | Free to watch |

What Subscription Bundles are Available on Philo TV?
Apart from the single subscription plan that costs $25, there are add-on packs that can be purchased at any time via a registered account.
I came across these three add-ons and each of them offer access to premium content.

What Features Make Philo TV Stand Out?
Unlike some other platforms, Philo TV lets me create my own schedule and watch content including live telecasts at my convenience. I found this to be pretty useful and perfect for days when i’m working.
Apart from this Philo TV has some other cool features that make it stand out from the rest. Some of the features I liked are:
- Unlimited DVR Capabilities – Each Philo TV subscription includes unlimited DVR storage which can be used to record live TV and other content all year round. With DVR you can rewind, fast forward and restart any show that aired live which you have recorded.
- Large VOD Library -There’s a large video on demand library with over 75,000 titles ready to watch. VOD content is tagged with a VOD label and can be found on Show Profiles.
- Picture in Picture – Philo TV is available with Picture in Picture on the website, Android and iOS devices. This can be used to reduce the size of the player so you can multitask while using your computer or mobile device.
- Closed Captions – Live TV, movies and all VOD content will have closed captions or subtitles making it easier to watch content that’s not in English or for non-English speakers to enjoy the live channels Philo TV has to offer.
- Built-in Autoplay – You can now binge better with autoplay on Philo TV. Once you finish watching an episode the next episode begins playing without having to manually start the playback.
Is Philo TV Worth It?
Yes, from what I experienced, Philo TV is definitely worth every cent. Their services don’t cost much and there’s loads of live content to binge on.
While they do lack news and sports channels, the added DVR functionality and the large VOD library make this service stand out from the rest.
I suggest that you sign up for the free trial and if you see yourself enjoying what they have to offer then go ahead and continue with the subscription. But remember, if you do not cancel before the 7-day trial can end, you will be charged in full for the subscription.
